It's Not Just The Tide To Watch Out For

When shooting at St Margarets Bay, there is a sign just past the houses that tells you to take caution from falling rocks and the danger of being cut off by high tide.

Having seen how quickly the tide comes in and see it cut off the access steps, it is a definate must to check the time tables before going and rule out my favourite part of beach at high tide.

The news this week highlights just how true the other part of the sign is

The second large fall in a week and definately not something you'd want to be under at the time.  I have seen the changing face of the Bay after visiting after a fall 3 years ago in January 2008

Fortunately the spots where I take photos are a good distance from the cliffs and hopefully this natural erosion will give way to see new and interesting rock formations around the bay, but it's not just the waves and tide I need to watch out for anymore!

Thursday 30 December 2010

2010 was a year when the camera took a back seat whilst I finalised my exams and then spent the rest of the year playing catch up.  2011 is around the corner and I hope that I will be able to continue with my photography as I would like.

This includes writing blogs about what I do and how I do it and after finding this site, I can do that element of it here.

I hope to get my own website up and running at some point, until then the majority of my photos can be found at http://www.redbubble.com/people/stuartchapman

Here was my favourite shot from 2010, let's see what 2011 brings.
